Just a little more
finessing really. Not much to show. I'm
slowly getting the hang of subpatches.

I did a little more work roughing in
the mouth and eyes. It's amazing how much
control a single point can have on the mesh, at this
point one point (in symmetry mode) affects the cheeks
quite nicely. I think I'll start assigning
points to selection sets so I can pick out particular
points easier. Larry's approach is, again,
very loose. He allows you to get it to a point
that you feel comfortable with the look of the
model. I personally like this approach as it
emphasizes how the manipulation of the points can
really affect the model. It's like modelling
with clay, really.

Spent a little more time tonight
working on the face. The nose is beginning to
take shape but needs more work. I'm sort of
doing a few things at once so this is a little slow
going. Larry's approach is very loose in that he
doesn't use any sort of background image to use as a
template. This set of videos is also different
from the beginner videos in that he assumes you know
how to use the modelling tools so he is spending time
on showing techniques that will help streamline
modelling and how get a feel for the form of the
model.

This course assumes that you know some
of the basics of the interface so the videos get right
into character modelling. This first video
starts with a basic "mask" and I get what
you see the the left. I didn't actually spend 1
hour modelling but I did spend some time poking around
the files from the CD and visiting Larry's website.
